U15 Midlands Cricket Champions

Published by Warwick School on Wednesday 6th of July 2016

Congratulations to the Warwick School U15 cricket team who for the first time ever have been crowned Midlands Champions. The team played Shrewsbury School in the semi-finals; Warwick scored 92 - 9 and got Shrewsbury all out in the penultimate over. Next up was the final against Trent College, in a game reduced to 16 overs due to impending rain. Warwick got the Trent team out for 65 runs with some impressive bowling and some outstanding catches. Despite a worrying start, losing two wickets in the first two overs, Warwick soon scored the runs and made the required total with overs to spare. As Midlands Champions, the team will play at the National Finals Day of the ECB/ECSA T20 competition, at Arundel Castle C.C, West Sussex, on 4 September. Four teams qualify for the Finals Day from across the country and Warwick will face the winners of the North region in the semi-finals.
