Published Tuesday 13th of September 2016 10:29:37 AM

St Margaret's Preparatory School in Calne has shown it is on top form with 100 percent of its pupils gaining places at their first choice senior school and a record number receiving Scholarships and awards. Karen Cordon, Headmistress, prides herself on the fact that the pupils always pass into their chosen schools, but she was particularly delighted by the success of this year’s leavers. 11 children received a total of 13 awards. In addition to academic scholarships, awards were also made in Music, Art and Sport. Exhibitions were also given for excellence in Maths and Science. Out of 32 pupils, secondary school destinations for the children will include Dauntsey’s in West Lavington, St Mary’s, Calne, King Edward’s, Bath, The Royal High School, Westonbirt, Wycliffe College and Sherborne Girls. Additionally, a number will continue their education at local state schools including St Augustine’s in Trowbridge, Hardenhuish, Chippenham and Malmesbury School. Mrs Cordon said: ‘Once again, we are thrilled that each child was successful in obtaining a place at their chosen school. This reflects the hard work and commitment of both the children and staff and we congratulate them on their outstanding achievements.’
