ACS Cobham International School recently welcomed world-renowned Irish story-teller, Niall de Burca, to deliver a series of captivating storytelling performances and workshops as part of the school's Artist in Residence programme. Internationally recognised for his energetic and animated style of storytelling, Niall performed Irish folk stories, as well as traditional tales from other cultures, to Cobham students aged ten - 14. Anne Hollyfield, Middle School Librarian at ACS Cobham commented: "Niall is a fantastic and entertaining storyteller. Students come away from his performances and workshops feeling creative and ready to harness the storyteller within themselves." Inspiring both teachers and students, his lively performances demonstrated the cultural importance of storytelling across the globe. Pupils also participated in storytelling and performance workshops during the visit, allowing them to discuss ideas with Niall and work interactively with him. Anne Hollyfield also added: "Using traditional stories from other cultures is extremely helpful in developing ACS students as respectful and internationally minded young people."
