Gold Rush for Bedford School at Buckingham Palace
Published by Bedford Upper School on Friday 8th of June 2018
On Thursday 24 May, five Bedford School boys were invited to Buckingham Palace to receive their well-deserved Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Charles Gee, Thomas Liggins, Harry Donougher, Matthew Fordham and Oakley McNulty were all presented with their Gold Awards at a special ceremony at the palace, which was attended by The Duke of Cambridge. It takes huge amounts of dedication and effort to gain a Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award: each boy carried out volunteer work over a period of twelve months, learnt new skills, undertook a four-day/three-night expedition as well as a five-day/four-night residential trip.
