Our School Council

Published Tuesday 11th of December 2018 01:56:34 PM

Our school council gets every student at Radlett Lodge School involved, no matter how they communicate. Through the council your child can say what they would like to change or make better about their school. Most importantly, the school council is the voice of the students. Every class sends a delegate to the council, and their delegate brings decisions back to the class for them to discuss and vote. The students on the council are supported by a learning support assistant and the speech and language therapist. Our young campaigners Some of our students have taken their involvement a step further and have become young campaigners. They have been learning about autism rights both in school and in the wider world, and how we can make life better for people with autism. They have talked to members of the House of Lords, spread the word about autism among celebrities (we’re not allowed to say who), and attended West End fundraising launches as ambassadors for young people with autism. "I like being a young campaigner because it teaches me more, I can now talk very well and it helps me change things for the better." Pupil "Our daughter seems much happier and more confident since being at Radlett Lodge School. We have noticed this and others members of our family have also commented on this." Parent
