Some 40 trees have been planted by Year 7 students and staff at the Duke of York’s Royal Military School to help reduce climate change.

Led by biology teachers Kerry Duffield and Mark Rixon, students imbedded the 20 English Oak and 20 Green Beech within the Dover school’s ecology section of its 150-acre grounds.

The trees were donated by TreeAppeal.com which helps to promote biodiversity, create habitats and improve the environment.

Principal Alex Foreman said: “The project has seen more than a third of a million trees planted by schools and I would like to thank our science teachers for ensuring we are part of this scheme which aids the education of our students.”
