Dauntsey’s pupils have staged their annual ROCKfest concert to a packed audience. A total of took to the stage, split into two sets, starting with the Lower School and finishing with the Upper School. The pupils performed a wide range of numbers, all exhibiting great talent and enthusiasm, with some stand-out performances.

This year’s show included performances from Dauntsey’s very own staff band – PGE – and the technical crew outdid themselves with a specialised lighting set created for each act.

Pupils and staff voted for their favourite acts of the night, with more than 1,000 votes cast. The categories of ‘Best Band’ and ‘Best Overall Performance’ were both won by Painkillers. ‘Best Solo Act’ went to Freya, with a stunning vocal performance, and Apollo scooped the award for ‘Best Dressed Band’. A standout performance came from Cosmic Lightshow, who were the only band to play original material, and came a very close second in both the ‘Best Overall Performance’ and ‘Best Band’ categories.

Gareth Harris, Director of Music, Dauntsey’s, said;

“A big thank you to all who voted and special thanks to the staff and pupils who worked so hard to make this a very special event. This year’s competition was an extremely high standard.

“A huge well done to everybody who took part and especially to the team of pupils who gave up so much of their time to set up and run the sound and lighting rigs.”
