Year 10 Pupils Enjoy Bronze DofE Expedition on the Mendip Hills

The Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Qualifying Expeditions took place last weekend, with 78 Year 10s completing two days on the Mendip Hills. The groups walked one of two routes, but both took in the popular Cheddar cliffs just to the east of Cheddar Gorge, which meant that fantastic views of the Welsh coastline, Exmoor and the Bristol channel could be enjoyed.

The Bronze participants experienced varied weather, with a wet Saturday evening and Sunday morning; not that this dampened spirits! The undulating routes also represented a challenge when carrying heavy rucksacks. However, all the participants made excellent progress over the two days and all the groups completed their routes in good time.

Congratulations to those students in Year 10 who have now successfully completed the Bronze Expedition section.
