Author-Illustrator Petr Horáček opens new Pre-Prep Library

Published Sunday 10th of October 2021 09:02:49 PM

The Blue Coat School welcomed award winning author and illustrator Petr Horáček to open their newly refurbished Pre-Prep Library. The library designed in collaboration with Peters Books is inspired by woodland nature and has created a beautiful space for the children, complete with a forest backdrop and toadstools and tree trunks to sit on. As they sit in their new library the children of Pre-Prep cannot fail to be transported to another land, if not by the story in their library book, this magical new space will most certainly do the trick!

Petr entertained Reception, Year One and Year Two with tales of a naughty breakfast-stealing goat and an adventurous rabbit who learns that the best place in the world is where-ever your friends are. He also led pupils and staff in a draw-along resulting in herds of fantastic paper elephants. Then it was time to join several pupils, Chair of Governors, Mr Singleton, as well as Mrs Andrews and Mr Neeson to officially open the new Pre-Prep Library. Petr kindly presented the school with a painting of Suzy Goose which will be displayed with pride and remind the children of this special day whenever they visit their beautiful new library.
