St Swithun's Juniors Making Macbeth

Published Wednesday 21st of December 2011 03:39:45 PM

In October St Swithun's Junior School Year 5 took part in the Shakespeare Schools Festival and performed a thirty minute ensemble version of Shakespeares Macbeth at The Point Theatre in Eastleigh.
Miss Silvester, music and drama teacher at the school, has attended workshops with the girls along with an excellent INSET training organised as part of the festival and this culminated in a magnificent performance from all of the girls. Three other schools attended including St Swithuns senior school. Our girls were the youngest and we were very proud of their professional approach. They received very encouraging feedback from the festivals director. It was a late night and they were still in the theatre at 10.30pm!

Year 5 also laid on a special viewing of their production to senior school pupils from L5, who thoroughly enjoyed the piece.
