Simply spectacular Canapés and Cocktails Evening

Published Tuesday 10th of April 2012 04:35:51 PM

If you thought attending a party hosted by children was likely to be as exciting as watching snow melt, think again. Year 7 children hosted a simply spectacular Canapés and Cocktails Evening to which their parents and some staff were invited. Accompanied by excellent music from our talented Year 7 musicians, the adults were served some delicious locally produced wine from Warden Abbey Vineyard near Biggleswade. To ensure that that wasn't all they enjoyed, temptations of Coronation Chicken in poppadums, smoked salmon on cream cheese with horseradish, goat's cheese and shallot nibbles and pork belly were served by persuasive waiters and waitresses. If the guests had any space left after such scrumptious delights, dessert followed in the form of honeycomb, chocolate buttons with lavender and meringues. Congratulations to all involved, who ensured that nobody needed any dinner when they got home.

In addition, by doing this cocktail party the children will be entering a competition, for which we have the theme of 'Cook for the Queen'. Consequently, the canapés and drinks served at the party reflected our country (past and present), and local produce was used as much as possible.
