Children at St. John's-on-the-Hill School welcomed some very special visitors recently when the touring aspect of Little Tiger Press, 'The Stripey Tiger Super Tour' visited Chepstow.

Children from Reception age to Year 6 met three authors: David Roberts of 'Dirty Bertie', Guy Bass of 'Dinking Dings' and illustrator Alison Edgson. Every child was able to enjoy a lengthy interactive session led by one of the well known authors and given the opportunity to buy a signed book.

The pre-prep were read to and made monsters with Alison Edgson, Years 3 & 4 had a master class in all things disgusting with the creator of 'Dirty Bertie', producing some fabulous illustrations and Years 5 & 6 were entertained royally by the comedic Guy Bass, whose session involved costumes, codes and much hilarity.

The morning was a 'roaring' success and Mrs Kate Vella, Head of English at St. John's said, 'This was a fantastic opportunity for the children to meet with the authors of some of their favourite books and to enjoy an informative and fun workshop. We are grateful to The Chepstow Bookshop for their assistance with the event, which proved once again, that books and writing continue to play a significant part in our children's lives.'
