Music Exchange

Published Sunday 7th of November 2010 08:05:25 AM

Norwich High School hosted visitors from Elly Heuss Knapp Gymnasium School in Heilbronn, Germany, in October. The visitors joined girls from Norwich High in a Joint Concert a celebration of this long established Music Exchange. There was much variety in the performance and perhaps the highlight was Chicken Rhythm at the end of the programme!

On Sunday the two choirs swelled Norwich Cathedral congregation by some 80 people and everyone joined in the hymn singing and enjoyed the sparrows in the Cathedral in the Spatzenmesse by Mozart.

After an impromptu photo call everyone piled into two coaches and drove in beautiful sunshine to Aldeburgh on the Suffolk coast. Some conscientiously queued for the fantastic fish and chips while others went to see the three musical graves in the churchyard.

This was followed by a quick trip to Snape where all indulged in refreshment, shopping, photos and a quick walk. New friendships were made and Norwich High girls are now looking forward to their return visit to Heilbronn in April 2011.
