St Leonards-Mayfield School is proud to be hosting the first ever Agenda International Poetry Festival this October. We are delighted to announce that the National Poet of Wales, Gillian Clarke will be giving a workshop and poetry reading, in addition to an exciting line-up of other poets such as Mimi Khalvati, Tim Liardet, John F. Deane (founder of Poetry Ireland), Gill McEvoy, Peter Carpenter and Sue Roe as well as a host of others.

Agenda was founded in 1959 by Ezra Pound and William Cookson and is a highly respected international poetry journal. Gillian Clarke will visit on Tuesday 9th of October and the festival then runs from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th of October, with a range of literary talks, workshops and readings that are described on the Agenda website: http://www.agendapoetry.co.uk/

This is a very exciting event for Mayfield to participate in and we hope to include GCSE and A Level English Literature students in as many events as possible, while giving admission to students from other schools, Old Girls and friends of the School, and the general public also.
