Both the U12 and the U13 Hazlegrove Girls' Hockey teams headed off from Somerset to Hertfordshire to compete in the National IAPS Hockey finals. This is the culmination of a national tournament and the top ten U12 schools and top twelve U13 schools in the country met to play some very high standard hockey.
The Hazlegrove U12 girls finished 3rd an great achievement, only losing 1 match all day. It was interesting to note that the three schools that qualified from the West regional final all made it to the semi-finals. This goes to show how strong the hockey is on the Somerset circuit.
The U13 girls had a slightly tougher draw, losing to the eventual winners and runners up. They played some super hockey and finished on a real high with a great goal to win their last game on what was a very wet and windy day !
Well done to all of these girls who certainly played with real pride.
