Congratulations to Year 5 pupil and talented clarinettist Kian P who, after attending auditions in Reading in October, has won a place in the 2013 Under 11 National Children's Orchestra (NCO).

The NCO is one of the world's finest children's orchestras and offers talented young musicians aged 7-13, from all over the UK, unbeatable orchestral training and performance opportunities.

Kian, who performed 'Tarantella' by Baermann and 'Scaredy Cat' by Buckland as his audition pieces, is now looking forward to taking part in a residential course in Dorset next summer as well as a gala concert at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham.

Head of Music, Miss Carr, said 'This is a marvellous achievement for Kian and we are very proud of him. He is a gifted musician and I'm sure that the experience will only serve to further his love of music.'
