Published on isbi School News dated Friday 14th of June 2013

Lower Sixth student Daisy Vaughan-Jones has recently qualified for the Royal International Horse Show and The Horse of the Year Show, both of which will take place later this year.

Daisy has been riding for virtually all her life and mainly competes in working hunter pony classes. She has owned her grey mare Sally for two years, who is also 17 and was born two days after Daisy! In May she won at the South Suffolk Agricultural Show, qualifying for the Royal International Horse Show which will take place at Hickstead from 30th July to 4th August. She went on to win the Novice Eventers Grand Prix at Houghton International and also was Working Hunter Pony Champion.

At the end of May Daisy was placed second at the Suffolk County Show and in June came first at The Derbyshire Festival of Showing, qualifying for The Horse of The Year Show, held in Birmingham from 9th to 13th October, and fulfilling an ambition she has held since the age of eleven!

She is longlisted for the English Working Hunter Pony team which will be held at the British Show Pony Society Championship in August.

The School would like to congratulate Daisy on this fantastic achievement and wish her the best of luck at these forthcoming events.
