Gresham's Prep School pupils win Science Fair prize

Published on isbi School News dated Tuesday 25th of June 2013

On Tuesday 18th June Gresham's Prep School joined schools from across Norfolk and Suffolk in order to celebrate the best Year 6 Science Fair projects that had been completed within their own schools. Twenty teams competed in the event, showing investigations about taste, smell, forces, dissolving and even how to make glue from breakfast cereal!

Year 6 pupils from all of the schools had spent half a term working in groups of three and investigating a question of their own choice. All the work had to be entirely the pupils own from ordering equipment to planning the investigation. They had to collect their results, evaluate their findings and display their work on a large board. All of the work looked absolutely amazing and the standard was exceptionally high, considering the ages of the pupils involved.

The judges had extremely high expectations, given that they had participated in the three Inter-School Science Fairs previously held at Gresham's Prep. Everyone was therefore delighted when the 'Toastbusters' were awarded the prize for 'Best Display'. Congratulations go to Lucy Bourn, Ella Gill and Darcey Pratt.
