Outstanding Exam Results for Northwood College

This year's GCSE and A Level results have been some of the best the school has ever had.

GCSE results were the best ever, with 44% of all grades awarded at A*. Overall, 75% of all grades awarded were A*/A and 93% were graded A*- B. Twenty-three girls achieved ten or more A* and A grades. Notable achievers include Anna Higgins who achieved an exceptional 11 A*s and Emily Dawes, Roween Rawat and Ridhaa Remtulla who each achieved 10 A*s and one A.

At A Level, nearly 50% of girls achieved grades A*- A and 79.5% of girls achieved grades A*- B. Out of the 51 girls who took A Levels, 15 achieved three A grades or above. Outstanding achievers include Katherine Lowe who obtained two A* grades and one A grade and is going on to Nottingham University to read Geography. Twins, Claire and Helen Middleton, achieved seven A grades between them. Claire is going to Southampton University to read Chemistry, whilst Helen is going to Bath University to read Bio-Chemistry.

Gabriella Steed achieved an A* and two A grades and is going on to Royal Holloway to study Psychology and Jade Gurton achieved four A grades and is going to Southampton University to study Mechanical Engineering and hopefully realise her dream of becoming a Formula 1 Race Engineer!

Jacqualyn Pain, Head Mistress commented: 'I am delighted with this year's exam results, which are some of our best ever. I would like to congratulate the girls and staff for all their hard work. Our results show that our ground-breaking approach to Thinking Skills, coupled with traditional academic rigour, leads to our girls achieving top exam grades.'
