Preparations for the event started in April with the application process followed by visits from the BBC technical team to ensure the venue was suitable.

On Friday, the technical team were the first to arrive in their outside broadcast unit, which caused a ripple of excitement. They were followed by the production team who transformed the Director of Music's office in to a professional production room.

In the pre-planning stages, Richard French, Production Co-ordinator, mentioned there is usually a one third drop off in people attending the event, but the panel were welcomed on stage to an almost capacity audience of over 250 people shortly before 8pm.

Chaired by Jonathon Dimbleby the panel consisted of Steve Webb, the Minister of State for Pensions, Chris Bryant, the Shadow Minister for Welfare Reform, the MP for Totnes, Sarah Wollaston and the environmental campaigner, George Monbiot.

Lisa Jenkinson, Producer, said that it had been a pleasure to broadcast from Godolphin as the organisation and facilities were excellent.
