AISS students smash own donation target to collect shoes for the needy in Nepal

Published on isbi School News dated Thursday 20th of January 2011

The staff and students of AISS collected an amazing number of new and second hand shoes for school children and the wider community in rural Nepal. The 7,000 pairs of shoes were generously donated by companies and individuals from across Singapore and have now been walked up the mountains in Nepal by students and an army of sherpas, to be given directly to those in need. The team also took with them a financial donation of well over S$50,000 when they visited Nepal in December. Part of this will go to continuing to fund teaching staff and other projects.
