Oxbridge and IGCSE Success at Bedales

Bedales Oxbridge offers are the best at the school since 2004 and one of the strongest years of the last 18, with nine Bedales students gaining offers from Oxford and Cambridge for courses including Mathematics, Economics, Theology, Natural Sciences and Fine Art.

Within the same week of hearing the university offers, IGCSE Maths students at Bedales received the results of exams sat in November - two terms early - with 18 of the 22 achieving A* grades and the remaining four 4 receiving A grades.

In addition to the Oxbridge offers, students at Bedales have been offered places at leading UK and overseas universities such as Durham, Edinburgh, Bristol, York, Cardiff, Sussex Medical School and Bard and Brown in the USA. The variety of courses includes Biology, Chemistry, Languages, Music and Philosophy.

Headmaster of Bedales Schools, Keith Budge has visited a number of universities over the past year, all of whom recognised Bedales for fostering the creativity, inquisitiveness and an independence of mind that prepares students well for higher education.

Commenting on the students' higher education prospects, Keith Budge, said:

'"This has been an excellent start to the term with the excellent Oxbridge results and tremendous early results for our Maths IGCSE students. Both reflect inspirational teaching and meticulous preparation. It is extremely rewarding to see our students winning such good higher education destinations, given the increasingly competitive university landscape."
