Bedales marketing excellence

Published on isbi School News dated Thursday 20th of January 2011

Independent co-educational boarding school, Bedales, in Hampshire, has been selected as a finalist in the Marketing Excellence Awards, run by the Chartered Institute of Marketing to recognise and reward excellence in marketing.

Bedales is the only school in the country to have been singled out by the judging team of expert theorists and industry professionals as delivering marketing excellence and making an exemplary contribution to the profession.

Organisations were judged on their "innovation, originality and creativity" and their "adaptability to meet the current changing markets".

Over the past few years, Bedales has adopted a clear and strategic approach to attracting suitably qualified students, including developing strong links with feeder schools, conducting research with parents and students to better understand their motivations, and introducing an award-winning new school website.

Keith Budge, Headmaster of Bedales Schools, says:

"I am delighted that the Chartered Institute of Marketing has recognised that it is not just teaching at Bedales that is innovative. Our founder John Badley created the school to be different over 100 years ago. Interest from families today shows there continues to be a healthy demand for the Bedales approach to education, which we believe offers an excellent preparation for young people facing up to the big challenges in the 21st century.

The school's Director of External Relations, Rob Reynolds, will attend the awards ceremony in London in February 2011 with the other 150 finalist organisations and campaign teams from all business sectors, which include Barclaycard, RAC, Scottish Widows, Highland Spring, Best Western, MCC, Rough Guides, Drinkaware, Metropolitan Police and Virgin Media.
