Elliot has added to his collection of medals by winning gold at the South of England Indoor Athletics Championships. His time of 48.9 seconds made him the fastest in the country for his Under 20s age group. The victory was particularly impressive because Elliot had never run a race indoors before. He said: 'This was an interesting and exciting experience for me. Indoor running is completely different to outdoors because the track is only 200m long so you have to do two laps, and also it slopes up at each end. I was slightly nervous about running indoors for the first time, however, after the first race, I felt much more confident about the semi-final and subsequently the final. I was presented with my medal by former world and Olympic 400m hurdles Gold medallist, Sally Gunnell, which was an honour. My next race is the Sainsbury's British Athletics Indoor Championships (Senior event) which is also the trial event for the World Indoor Athletics championships. However I am not hopeful for selection, although it is an honour to run against the likes of Nigel Levine."
Last summer, Elliot won a bronze medal in the 400 metre relay when competing for Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the European Junior Championships.
