Published on isbi School News dated Tuesday 11th of February 2014

Oundle School Upper Sixth Form pupil, Kavita Rai (17) has been accepted onto the KPMG School Leavers Programme for September 2014.

This prestigious achievement means that KPMG will fund her tuition and accommodation fees at Birmingham University whilst she studies for her degree in Accounting and Finance and in the holidays works with their industry leading Audit team in their Canary Wharf office.

Kavita commented, 'This gives me the opportunity to gain experience (at one of the 'Big Four') and offers me a permanent job after my degree. They will pay me a starting salary whilst in my 4 years at university, increasing as I become qualified.'

The application process included an online form, a situational judgement test, followed by online verbal and numerical tests. Next, was a first stage assessment and interview in KPMG's London office consisting of competency based questions and a written exercise. The final stage was an interview with a partner, which included preparing a presentation to deliver.

Kavita is currently studying Maths, French and RS at A level.

Kavita's tutor and Economics teacher, Fiona Quiddington commented, 'The School Leavers Programme offers Kavita the chance to obtain a professional qualification, as well as gaining access to a breadth of people, businesses and opportunities. The experiences Kavita will obtain at KPMG will be invaluable as will many of the relationships she will build with colleagues and clients alike. You have got to bring something to the party too; a 'can-do attitude', which Kavita has in abundance. I am hugely proud of her for making it through the competitive and grueling succession of interviews.'
