Prior's Field September 2018

Alumni Reunion Event a Roaring Success

On Sunday 22 June 2014, the College held a very special event that saw alumni of all ages come together to reminisce, bask in the sunshine and enjoy a very competitive game of cricket.

The day kicked off with a lovely mass service which saw five of the younger members of the congregation receive their first Mass, with the service being accompanied by some beautiful singing from the Alumni choir.

Following Mass, many of the congregation ventured up to the top field, where they enjoyed a family-friendly day. There was a bouncy castle and plenty of games to entertain our younger visitors, whilst there was also a delicious hog roast, fantastic company and a chance for everyone to meet in the sunshine, guided tours of the school and a very special old boys cricket match. This cricket match was the highlight of the day, with Steve Capon's Dream Team (with this Invitation XI comprising the talents of the more recent alumni) going head to head against stiff competition from Malcolm Bond's squad of older old boys, the Alumni XI. This match was to celebrate Steve's eleven years of dedicated service to the College before he leaves for a new post in Malaysia at the end of this term. The match ended with draw, where the onlookers were treated to the best of the Prior Park sporting ethos: great sportsmanship and skill combined with great goodwill, humour and fun!

Over the weekend we also welcomed back the Class of 1964 and friends, marking their fiftieth anniversary, and the Class of 1994 as they marked their twenty year reunion. Several former members of Prior staff returned over the weekend, including Gerard Kilroy, Roy Batters, Ros Kimball, Eileen McPeake, and John and Jesmary Stuart.
Many thanks to everyone who came along and supported this event and it was a pleasure to help you celebrate your fond memories of the school.
