Aldford Footballer's are the Northern Champions

On the 7th February, Aldford School, Junior Department of Abbey Gate College, became the ISA North Region U11 5-a-side football champions.

The tournament, which took place in Grimsby, involved schools from as far North as Sunderland, West as Chester and East as Hull, all battling it out for an opportunity to represent the region in the ISA National Finals.

The Aldford team which consisted of 6 pupils from Y5/6, progressed through the group stages with ease; the pass and move style that 5-a-side football requires, suiting them. They won their semi-final 2-0 and then comfortably took the title in the final,3-0. There was some excellent opposition on the day with some talented young players on show. The event organiser praised the Aldford players for their team ethic and pronounced them worthy winners. They will now go on to represent the region in the ISA National competition in Suffolk in mid-March.
