ACG Strathallan Equestrian Programme

The programme provides an environment for young riders which is both supportive and challenging. With the expertise of a professional coach and other renowned equestrians from a variety of horse riding disciplines, students have the opportunity to maximise their skills and compete at the highest level. At the same time a community of support is built up around the students and their families through informal gatherings and a sense of strong teamwork at training and events. Competition, Coaching and Support for Young Riders Pre event training evenings Competitions and Events throughout the year for teams and individuals Coaching and ‘Walk the Course’ at each team event Training clinics at local Pony Clubs Two Day Equestrian Camp Flat work and show jumping tuition Grooming talk and demonstration Polocross talk, demonstration and practical experience Cross country Instruction Fun activities: Swimming on ponies / Easter egg throwing competition / skits and pot luck dinner. Special Equestrian End of Year Prizegiving Record of Success 2015 North Island Inter Secondary School (NIISS) Competition 2015 – Two teams entered and both were successful. Strathallan became the first school to win both the Open Team and the Pre Training Team Trophies at this event. Past and present Strathallan students are area representatives at the NZ Pony Club Eventing Championships. 5th in Horse of the Year Show pony of the Year Class. Clevedon Intermediate Schools ribbon Day 2 teams entered. Team 1 came 4th overall. Auckland Secondary School Eventing at Papatoetoe Pony Club 2 teams entered coming 1st and 3rd. North Island Inter Secondary Schools Dressage Champs at St Peters College in Cambridge 2 teams entered.
