Top marks for LRGS pupils

Lancaster Royal Grammar School has had another very successful GCSE year, both for individual pupils and the school as a whole. 69% of the grades awarded achieved one of the two top grades, A* or A. Nearly a third of grades (32%) were A*.

In total, 24 boys achieved 8 A* grades or better and no fewer than 50 achieved 5 A* grades or better. 112 out of the 147 candidates achieved 5 A/A* grades or better.

Headmaster Andrew Jarman said of the 147 candidates, who each took 11 subjects: 'This was a very good year for our pupils, with successes at all levels of the ability range. The boys are to be congratulated on their success they are very well prepared for the step up to A-levels. My congratulations also to all the staff who have worked so tirelessly to create these results.'
