Jade Harvey

We are very fortunate at Sompting Abbotts having an outstanding young musician who took part in the 'Last Night of the Proms' Concert at the Assembly Hall in Worthing, given by the Worthing Philharmonic Orchestra on Saturday 1st October.

Jade Harvey started the cello aged 8 and by the age of 10 had already passed Grade 5, along with Grade 5 Theory, aged 9. She plays the piano beautifully and is currently working on Grade 7 piano and also Grade 8 cello. She was the youngest ever child to join the Orchestra for a concert and she thoroughly enjoyed the experience at one of the most enjoyable concerts in the season. The Orchestra performed the traditional 'Land of Hope and Glory', Fantasia on Sea Songs, Jerusalem and Rule Britannia and Zoe Peate from Steyning brought along her lovely ladies Choir, Cantatrice for the occasion.

Jade takes part in the International Susuki Cello course every Summer and is also a member of West Sussex Youth Orchestra.
