The community of Benenden School is saddened to learn of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

We give thanks for her life of service to our nation and our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family at this sad time.

As a community, we have marked the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in the past few days. On Friday morning the whole School gathered in the Hall for Prayers, reflecting on the inspirational life of a truly remarkable monarch, and a Sunday evening service was held in Her Majesty's memory, celebrating her life through hymns and prayer. A Condolence Book will soon be opened in the Chapel for the community to leave their messages.

Benenden has a long association with the Royal Family; having educated HRH The Princess Royal in the 1960s, the School was honoured to welcome Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to Benenden on occasion and is proud that HRH The Princess Royal holds the title of President of the Benenden Society. The loss of Her Majesty will be keenly felt across the School, but her example will continue to inspire Benenden students for generations to come.
