Award Winning Menu is Food for Thought

Published by Gordonstoun on Tuesday 8th of November 2022

A unique collaboration between students and Gordonstoun’s catering team has delivered an award-winning menu at the school. Members of Gordonstoun’s Refectory Committee worked with its chefs to create a new ‘Phased Learning Menu’. This builds on scientific understanding of the link between diet and mental or physical performance to deliver nutrient-packed breakfasts to boost concentration and memory, a ‘Carb and Protein Bar’ to deliver energy for sporting events and increased ‘brain-boosting’ Omega-3 and antioxidants during assessment periods. Gordonstoun believes it is the first school to create a menu which matches nutritional content to student activities in order to help young people improve their all-round performance.

The new menu has already won Talk Education’s Award for Innovation in Nutrition or Food and most recently won the Wellbeing Award at the inaugural Scottish School Food Awards.
