Varsity Netball vs FHS Sloane Square

On Friday 2nd December, we hosted our annual Varsity Netball tournament vs FHS Sloane Square in Regent’s Park.

The tournament began with the U15, U16 and U18 matches, in which the standard of netball played by both sides was excellent. Our U15 and U18 teams both put on a brave fight but were eventually defeated by FHS Sloane Square, while the U16 team played fantastically and emerged victorious.

After a presentation of the senior teams’ medals by Headmistress Mrs Woodcock, it was time for the U12, U13 and U14 games. Again, the calibre of netball across the board was very impressive, as was the teamwork and sportsmanship displayed by all teams. Our U12 and U14 teams were beaten by SSQ after nail-bitingly close games and our U13s came out on top in a gripping, fast-paced match.

The afternoon concluded with a presentation of the junior medals and the overall Varsity Cup by Mrs Woodcock, followed the players enjoying delicious cupcakes iced in each school’s colours.

Congratulations to all of our players for playing to such a consistently high standard throughout the afternoon, and thanks to the girls and PE staff from Sloane Square for venturing north for the afternoon. We’re already looking forward to next year!
