Published by LVS Ascot on Tuesday 21st of March 2023

Our very talented Years 7 – 9 students performed an outstanding production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang from the 2nd to 4th March at our fully equipped on-site theatre.

Auditions took part in October, with teachers being so blown away that the decision was made to double cast this show. A fantastic 84 students took part in total including the cast, crew and band.

Rehearsals began in November giving students approximately 12 school weeks to prepare. They dedicated a huge amount of time rehearsing at the weekends and after school ever since.

Jessica Clark, Head of Performing Arts and Drama said:

“Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was a triumphant success, with students from Year 7-9 performing and a crew of Year 7-13 students working together to put on a fantastic production. The 2-hour long show had challenging musical numbers, dances and a lot of set! The show had lots of complex technical elements including a flying car which wowed audiences each show. The students navigated each challenge brilliantly and supported each other throughout the process. As well as their wonderful performances, I have been most impressed with the way the students have worked together as a team, helping each other practice and motivating each other when they found elements more challenging. I am lucky to work with such an amazing staff team who continue to over amazing opportunities for our students, and privileged to teach such caring, dedicated and committed students.”
