Children Hit High Notes In Visit From Top UK Composer

A leading UK composer has been working creatively with children at Monmouth Prep School ahead of their summer concert.
Russell Hepplewhite spent two days with children this week at The Grange.
Mr Hepplewhite has become widely known for his operatic, musical theatre and choral music.
He ran workshops and whole-school singing slots during his visit to Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools.

Organiser, Mr Joe Walton, the Music Co-ordinator at Monmouth Prep School, said: “Our children enjoyed a brilliant two-day masterclass with Russell.
“He worked with our older children to compose a song from scratch, which they will perform. He also led a singing session with our younger children at Agincourt.”
Mr Walton added: “Russell is a former primary school teacher and this was a wonderful opportunity for our boys and girls to learn from a leading UK composer.”
