Prep Pupils Runners-up In Prestigious Science Competition

Budding scientists at Monmouth Prep School have finished runners-up in a prestigious national competition.

Tristan (captain), Bethan, Llewi and Nye showcased their incredible knowledge this week in the Quiz Club UK National Primary Science Quiz Finals at the University of Oxford.
The outstanding Haberdashers’ Monmouth quartet dazzled in the finals, which saw 38 top-class teams from all over the UK go head-to-head.

Head of Prep Science, Dr Sion Wall, was delighted with the achievements of the team and proud that Monmouth Prep School continues to shine on the national stage.
“I believe that school is where our future scientists are formed and have their imaginations stoked,” added Dr Wall.

“Key Stages 1 and 2 are where the crucial foundations to a lifetime’s understanding of science are laid and where the underpinnings of science education begin.”

Dr Wall continued: “Science should always excite and explain, and that’s what we do at Monmouth Prep School. This is vital in education as it equips our leaders of tomorrow in addressing the big challenges ahead of us.”
