Seaford Sixth Form Dorset Residential Trip

Published by Seaford College on Thursday 7th of September 2023

Our largest ever Sixth Form intake headed away on a bonding trip to Dorset.

We welcomed back our Year 12 students from their residential trip to Dorset today.

Seaford has welcomed the largest ever Sixth Form intake this week and they have all been away on a bonding trip, trying out new activities, pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones, and getting to know each other.

Jon Jones, Acting Director of Sixth Form said: “It was high summer down in Dorset! I’m delighted to report that Seaford’s Year 12 students descended in the late morning yesterday on Studland Bay and immediately found themselves in cool water, letting off steam with old and new friends.

The year group was split in two, on the main estate we had groups building and sailing over-ambitiously constructed rafts with predictably hilarious consequences. Others brushed up their SUP skills on an inland lake. In the shadow of Corfe Castle, the other half of Year 12 enjoyed giant inflatable obstacle courses on two lakes, with some conspicuously high-tariff dives being demonstrated by the more adventurous students.

All reconvened last night at camp in a clearing dominated by a giant tipi before an evening of food and activities. We reversed the order of play today.

The main goal of the trip is to start to build new connections and lay down some great memories of Sixth Form and the trip certainly hasn't disappointed.”
