Forth Form Adventure

Published by Cranleigh School on Monday 3rd of July 2023

Last week saw the whole of the Fourth Form involved in a couple of adventure days. The year group was split into two on a House basis, with one group heading off for a walk and the others taking part in a couple of choices from a menu of School-based activities. The groups then swapped round for the second day.

The walkers were blessed with fabulous weather for a gentle bimble over the South Downs starting at Eastbourne, going up over Beachy Head, down to Birling gap (for lunch) before taking in the Seven Sisters on the way to pick up at Exceat.

The School based pupils were able to choose from a range of exciting and challenging activities which included abseiling down the front of an old railway tunnel, kayaking on the Wey and Arun Canal, orienteering up on Winterfold, nature photography, a CCF stand and a survival scenario.

The Adventure concluded with some wonderful barbequed brisket down on the South Field.

As they say, “a great time was had by all” with lot of boundaries being stretched and new skills learnt.
