Pupil Success With England Netball Pathway

Published by Cranleigh School on Thursday 7th of September 2023

We were thrilled to learn of the netball-ing success of one our 2022 leavers. Sienna R. has been selected into the Roses Academy Programme for the 2023-24 season. The Roses Academy is part of the England Netball Player Pathway, supporting young athletes between 14-18 years old in the development of their journey towards potential Senior England Roses Internationals.

Sienna was asked to trial following her contribution to the Surrey Storm NPL squad throughout the season. Sienna’s selection into the programme means that she will be involved in regular camps and friendly competition over the coming months as well as being eligible for selection for the upcoming Netball Europe U21 competition at the start of October.

We are incredibly proud of Sienna and all her achievements but even more so because we saw how much hard work and dedication went in behind the scenes. Juggling the busy life of a Cranleighan whilst pursuing the life of an athlete is no mean feat but Sienna took in all her in stride and is real inspiration to future Cranleighans who hope to follow in her footsteps. As our 1st team co-captain she never stepped away from responsibility and always led by example whether in training or in competitive matches, her flair and undeniable talent shone through and she really raised the bar for the others in the group.
