Year 11 Exchange Trip To Buenos Aires

Published on isbi School News dated Friday 14th of July 2023

Three year 11 students and I set out for Buenos Aires, Argentina in August as part of the Northlands Exchange programme.

On arriving, I was immediately welcomed by the friendly people and enjoyed the overly sweet but delicious food. In the first week, I visited the Colon Theatre where we watched a ballet.

We also visited many iconic landmarks with fascinating histories, such as La Boca, La Casa Rosada and La Puente de Mujeres. Despite our busy schedule, I managed to find time to buy a Messi top at a tourist shop, of course!

A highlight of the trip were the football matches that took place, where the whole school would watch as if it were Argentina playing in the World Cup.

So, despite going to school 8.5 hours a day, I got so much out of this enriching exchange: new friendships, better Spanish skills and many once in a lifetime experiences. If I could do it again, I'd say yes in a heartbeat! We look forward to welcoming four Argentinian students here at the end of January, and can't wait to show them around London.
