Prior's Court Young People Getting Creative And Supporting Peer Learning

Young people at Prior’s Court are supporting the learning of their peers and getting creative at the same time.
The Local Community Contribution project has restarted in Creative/Art sessions for our post-16 young people and our young adults. The project supports our young people to make products to support teaching in other areas.
The project’s first customer was our Numeracy Learning Specialist Natasha Els who has had counting frogs and frog rulers made to support teaching of measurements in Lower School.
The project not only supports providing creative teaching materials but also caters for requests from across Prior’s Court.
“This project was inspired by the 5 steps to improved mental health and wellbeing -specifically connecting, learning and giving. It is really important for our young people to be able to see what they are creating being used functionally. I am really excited to see what other creative projects we can work on in our sessions and see how our staffing teams make use of these in their sessions.”
Kerry Brown, Creative Learning Facilitator
Numeracy Learning Specialist Natasha added: “The creativity of our young people is amazing and I’m super excited to use the counting frogs and frog rulers in numeracy sessions in Lower School.”
