Paradise Wildlife Park Trip

Published by Saint Nicholas School on Tuesday 28th of March 2023

Last Thursday, Year 1 pupils visited Paradise Wildlife Park, as part of their topic, ‘Paws, Claws and Whiskers’. They had a brilliant time, starting the day by attending a talk at Base Camp with their Ranger Specialist, who led a discussion about animals with fur, feathers and scales. Pupils then searched for animals in the different animal groups and were able to handle different animal skins. The year group really impressed Ranger Joanne with all their knowledge.
After the talk, they took a stroll around the world of dinosaurs, before finding a comfortable place for lunch.

In the afternoon, they explored the wildlife park, taking in a bird display, seeing the lions having their lunch, and walked through the outback with the wallabies to see the penguins. Next, they faced their fears in the Angkor Reptile House, where they said hello to a number of creepy crawlies and reptiles. After escaping those creatures, they wandered over to the big cat territory to see the tigers and snow leopards, before finishing the day with an informative Q&A session with a friendly keeper who looks after the red pandas. All in all, it was a wonderful experience for all involved.
