Making a noise about bullying

Published by Kingshott School on Thursday 16th of November 2023

This week pupils and staff at Kingshott have been taking part in Anti-Bullying Week.

The theme for this year is “Make a Noise About Bulling” and we’ve certainly made a noise about it at Kingshott! There has been an array of assemblies and activities – all designed to encourage children to think about bullying at both school and in wider society.

Throughout the week there were a variety of activities and assemblies for different year groups, and it was also the focus of PSHCE lessons. Highlights include:

  • It was a colourful start to the week with pupils (and staff too!) taking part in Odd Socks Day. It was a fun and visible way to celebrate what makes us all unique.

  • Year 3 pupils building a cardboard box wall to show that bullying has no place in society (not just at school).

  • Pupils in Y5 – 8  designing their own Superhero for the Thrive campaign for anti-bullying.

  • Year Y7 playing musical instruments in their assembly to demonstrate the effects of sound – symbolising that every sound counts whatever the volume.
