European Languages Day raises money for 'Save the Children' at The Ursuline Preparatory School

Published on isbi School News dated Monday 5th of November 2012

The girls at The Ursuline Prep school celebrated European Languages Day by hosting a multi-lingual European café. All girls had a chance to purchase a break time treat whilst practising their European Language skills. A variety of languages were spoken including, French, Spanish, Italian and Polish, and some of the Year 6 girls were dressed in national costume. The morning was rounded off with a European languages treasure trail around the school!
Many thanks go to Waitrose in Raynes Park who gave the Ursuline Prep a stock of biscuits and cakes, and to those parents who supported the event by baking. Thank you also to Mdme Putt our MFL teacher for organising the event. In total just over £100 was raised for 'Save the Children'. Headmistress, Anne Farnish said, 'This was a wonderful way to celebrate the language diversity of our school community in a practical and fun way, whilst supporting this very worthwhile Charity'.
The Ursuline Prep School Open Morning is on Saturday 13th October from 10 am to 12 noon, all families very welcome. www.ursuline-prep.merton.sch.uk
