Talented twins at Lancaster Royal Grammar School

This was a very GCSE successful year for LRGS, the second best ever, with 71.5% of all entries achieving either A* or A grades. 35% of these were at the top grade A*. The 142 candidates achieved a remarkably high average of 10.8 passes per pupil at C grade or better. In addition, the top Maths set took the additional Maths exam, gaining 26 A grades, one B and two Cs.

Twins Thomas and William Gray were among the top achieving students, both achieving an outstanding eleven A* grades. The boys, who are from Sedbergh, are both boarders at LRGS. Four more pupils also achieved eleven A* grades: Adam Bateson, Nicholas Lonsdale, Beau Marshall and Rohin Patel. A further six pupils achieved 10 A* grades: John Armitage, Jonathan Hyman, Callum Mason, Sam Moorby, David Riley and William White. A total of 45 boys achieved 6 or more A* grades.
