Published by Christ College on Monday 19th of October 2026

We are delighted to share the news that Christ College Brecon has won the award for Regional Independent School of the Year: Central, at the Independent School of the Year Awards 2026!

In our entry, we celebrated the unique educational experience our school offers, combining academic excellence with character development, wellbeing and a variety of opportunities to pupils both in and out of the classroom, inspiring a holistic approach to education. At the heart of this experience is our pupils’ deep-rooted sense of belonging to the school. They are part of a close-knit, supportive community where they can build friendships and memories that last a lifetime.

Our setting in Wales is not just a backdrop – it is an integral part of our ethos. The hills, rivers and landscape of the Brecon Beacons provide endless opportunities for exploration, challenge and growth. It gives our pupils the space to discover who they are, what they can achieve and how they can make a meaningful impact on the world.

This award is a wonderful recognition of our school and the passion, care and commitment that make Christ College such a special place for our pupils and their families.
