Help and Advice on Schools

Useful information and advice on choosing an independent school

Independent schools in the UK are referred to in various ways, whether they are called public schools, private schools, independent schools, fee-paying schools, and prep schools, all of them are characterised by the fact that they are not run, or paid for, by the government.

Although independent schools have much in common, they can also vary widely in the type of education they offer, and in the type of pupil they are principally suited for. So what are the main factors parents should consider in choosing a school for their child?

Our help and advice section contains useful information and support for parents who are considering where to send their child to school.

Whether you want to know more about the difference between state (government funded schools) and independent schools; scholarships and bursaries or want advice on visiting a school, we can help.

We will continue to add to and update this section so if there is something we haven’t covered get in touch and we will see what we can do to help.

Don’t forget to use our advanced search function to refine and tailor what you want from a school in order to shortlist and compare schools that match your child’s needs.
