St Piran's is a small, friendly school with a strong family ethos. The school caters for pupils aged 3-16. Children come from a wide surrounding area to be educated in small class groups (Maximum 12) where the emphasis is on individual achievement and the encouragement of talents.

Happy, confident children become successful learners and there is no doubt that the school has a buzz of enthusiasm throughout its classes. This high motivation for learning, when encouraged from an early age, lasts a life-time.

The Nursery Unit makes excellent provision for 3 and 4 year olds. The high adult/child ratio and first-hand experiences based on the early learning goals encourage rapid progress. As a registered centre with Cornwall County Council Education department, parents of our three and four year olds receive grants which cover most of the fees for five mornings each week.

Throughout the school classes are small, with a maximum of twelve children. The National Curriculum is followed in all subjects and French is included from Year There are also a variety of extra-curricular activities such as cookery, guitar playing, drama, art, sporting clubs and computer. Instrumental tuition is available on many instruments and the school choir competes in local music festivals with considerable success. We hold an Artsmark Award from Arts Council England and have a rich and varied creative life.

This is a happy but disciplined 'family' school with an active curriculum, that is very highly resourced. You are cordially invited to visit this thriving school to appreciate our ethos and observe our children in action, we love to share the friendly atmosphere with visitors who usually remark on the warmth of their welcome from the well-mannered pupils.

Our students are encouraged to be out-going, and to see themselves as world citizens, as befits pupils at a school that is part of a large multi-national company offering world-wide education. The school minibus is used extensively to enrich the curriculum opportunities, and as well as local field trips and educational visits, we make an annual residential visit to London. Pupils in Key Stage 2 attend PGL activity courses and last year we made our first trip to France with Year 7,8 and 9 pupils. We are a little school with "big ideas" and we would be happy to share them with you!
