St Joseph's College occupies an impressive 60-acre site in the heart of Ipswich, providing a serene environment for the education of girls and boys. Many start in our Nursery from the age of three, progress to the Prep School and remain with us throughout the Senior School until they are 18. Our day pupils thrive together with our full and weekly senior boarders.
Our facilities include the architect-designed award-winning Prep School, a sleek, state-of-the art Sixth Form Centre (opened September 2016), dance studio, auditorium, sports hall and Astroturf.
At the heart of St Joseph's is our inspiring Chapel. This provides an anchor for the school life that revolves around it. It captures the spirit of community which runs through the school, fostering an atmosphere of teamwork and support between staff and pupils; indeed it can accommodate all 700 of us. Our philosophy is centred on a strong sense of Christian community and a supportive family atmosphere permeates all we do.
Realising each pupil's potential is the bedrock of a St Joseph's education: we want each young person to be prepared to lead a fulfilled, productive, responsible, happy and successful life. Expectations are high, both academically and socially and each child's progress is carefully monitored through our excellent pastoral and support structures.
The College offers a wide range of traditional and cutting-edge academic subjects, creative and performing arts, sports and extra-curricular activities. A strong emphasis is placed on the development of personal and social skills and on establishing positive attitudes to learning and to school life.
As students progress through the College, they are given opportunities for increased responsibility to enable them to develop a sense of service. This strategy of building confidence without arrogance nurtures attributes essential for personal and professional success in adult life.
