Dallam is a welcoming, inclusive and high achieving place to study where every individual matters. We are different due to our unique range of courses, exceptional facilities and the unquestioning commitment and enthusiasm of the staff and wider school community.
With examination results among the best in the country - and our Boarding with an outstanding Ofsted rating, Dallam is a popular choice for both day students and students wanting a top UK state boarding school.
Dallam boasts a £12 million investment in new facilities. In the last 3 or 4 years, these have included a fantastic new sports hall, gym, fitness room, 3G artificial pitch, dance and drama studios, music rooms, science block, dining rooms, learning resources centre, English block, boarding block, ICT facilities and school entrance. There is an extensive extra-curricular programme of sports, art and outdoor activities, with particular emphasis on the Duke of Edinburgh programme of outdoor expedition and voluntary service.
Fully subscribed at a little over 1000 students, including a large Sixth Form, the school is small enough for everyone to be known as an individual but large enough to offer a wide range of courses, including GCSE, vocational, A Level and the prestigious International Baccalaureate.
Every student meets their personal tutor daily and maintains that relationship from years 7 - 11. The personal tutor tracks both the academic and personal development of a relatively small group of students and provides an invaluable link with parents.
Dallam has a distinctive international ethos with an emphasis on creativity, service and outdoor challenge throughout the curriculum. We believe that an international dimension to the whole school curriculum raises students' aspirations and prepares them better for working in an increasingly global economy.
Our boarding is well established at Heversham. This year we have welcomed students from thirteen different countries into the school, enriching its cultural diversity. The boarding house has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and the boarders get on well with each other and with the staff.
Accommodation for boarders is in an attractive, modernised, Victorian building or, for Sixth Formers, in a new purpose built block with 50 individual, en-suite bedrooms with internet access.
Our fees are much lower than independent schools. This is because parents only pay for the boarding accommodation. Education costs for UK or EU citizens are paid for by the state.
